Goldmoor Inn Appoints New Director of Events

The Goldmoor Inn has announced Glenn Griffith as its new director of events. Griffith will all event planning at the 21-acre property based in Galena, Ill.

He brings more thanr 25 years of experience to his new role, previously serving as director of catering in hotels such as The New York Palace Hotel, The Charles Hotel at Harvard Square and Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. He also has owned his own social and corporate event planning company, Glenn Griffith Inc.

CES 2017 to Draw 50,000 Industry Professionals

On Jan. 5–8 in Las Vegas, CES 2017, a global tech community conference, is expected to draw 50,000 industry professionals from more than 150 countries. The show will feature exhibits from 57 countries—up 9 percent from last year. More than 600 startups from 33 countries will be featured this year.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hermiston Downtown Opens

The newest Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites opened its doors in Hermiston, Ore., on Dec. 7. Located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 395 and W. Hermiston Ave., the hotel is in the heart of downtown—a perfect location.

InnSight Hotel Management Group will manage the 93-room, four-story hotel. It features a number of amenities, including 18 suites, an indoor pool, fitness center, complimentary breakfast service, a meeting room, a business center and guest laundry facilities.

Hilton Portland Undergoing Multimillion Dollar Renovation

Hilton Portland is set to undergo a huge transformation that is scheduled to be complete in spring 2017. Renovations will include updates to the guest rooms and lobby, a new restaurant and bar, and meeting space.

The 782-room hotel, located in the heart of downtown Portland, is in the early stages of its renovation. They will first update their existing 60,000 square feet of meeting space, and relocating the fitness room. They've also added a 5,500-square-foot ballroom and additional breakout space.
