The Northwest is home to a number of intriguing international districts in which to host your next meeting or event. From a museum in Seattle to a traditional Vietnamese restaurant in Portland and a high-energy nightclub in Vancouver, here are six spots you should definitely check out.

Provenance Hotels will Open The Woodlark in 2018

Two adjacent buildings at the intersection of SW Park and Alder streets in Portland, Oregon, are coming together to form one sophisticated hotel. Purchased by Provenance Hotels and NBP Capital, the two historic properties, the Cornelius Hotel and the Woodlark Building, are being reimagined as the new hotel, The Woodlark. Construction on the 150-room hotel began in November and is scheduled to be completed in March 2018.

Corporate Holiday Parties Can Now Include the Whole Family

If your company holiday festivities' guest list includes spouses, partners and children, the Northwest has numerous family-friendly venues that will make everyone feel welcome. Here are just a few:

Thompson Seattle Opens for Business

This summer, Thompson Hotels’ first Pacific Northwest property opened its doors at First Avenue and Stewart Street in Seattle. A 12-story luxury hotel, Thompson Seattle features 158 guest rooms, eight corner studios and two suites, as well as Puget Sound and Olympic Mountain views. The hotel also includes the full-service restaurant, Scout; the rooftop bar and lounge, The Nest; business and fitness centers; and more than 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.

Flashback: Boise Depot is a Sought-After Event Space

When the Boise Depot first opened in 1925, thousands turned out to see the first transcontinental engine steam into the station. Among its many visitors over the years was President Harry S. Truman, who made a stop at the depot on a tour of the West. Located in the Depot Bench neighborhood, it’s now a go-to venue for meetings and events.

Salishan Spa & Golf Resort is a Paradise Destination for Canine-Friendly Events and Meetings

Guests at the Salishan Spa & Golf Resort may be a bit surprised by the greeting they receive upon their arrival. Along with a “hello” and a handshake from the concierge as they enter the lobby, they’re also likely to encounter a wet nose and fuzzy muzzle.

That’s Remington’s way of saying “welcome.” The 7-year-old Bernese mountain dog is Salishan’s resident canine and the first indication to guests that this Oregon Coast resort has literally gone to the dogs.

Open for Business in Boise

On Thursday, Oct. 20, Boise Centre officially celebrated the grand opening of City Centre Plaza, which includes the new Clearwater Analytics Building, Boise Centre East, Main Street Station and Boise State University Computer Science Department. The expansion includes 36,000 square feet of additional meeting and event space, including a new ballroom that can accommodate 800 guests seated, eight new meeting rooms, and two levels of pre-function and lobby space.

Network and Create Craft Cocktails at coup d'etat

This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending a mixology class at coup d’etat in Uptown Minneapolis. The class was held in one of their semi-private dining areas, where 18 of us had the pleasure of creating five signature cocktails with our mixologist Alex.
