Washington State Convention Center Celebrates a Milestone

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC). On June 18, 1988, James Ellis, thenchairman of the board of directors for the convention center, cut the ribbon, and the doors were open for business. Today, the center welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world and around the corner to its halls each year, and has brought billions of dollars into the state of Washington. Happy anniversary, WSCC! May the next 30 be equally as fruitful.

These tours have all the right ingredients for a fulfilling—and filling—post-meeting activity.

Melissa Jurcan, president of ILEA Seattle, penned a moving tribute to the hospitality industry for the Emerald City Applause Awards. Here is an abridged version.
