Immedia, a public relations firm based in Vancouver, has appointed Connell A. Kennedy as it’s new account director. In his new role, Kennedy will be serving clients in British Columbia, including Canadian Tourism Commission and Granville Island.

"Connell’s keen insight and engaging personality will allow him to quickly build relationships with clients and the media, and his extensive background in creating partnerships will see exciting new opportunities for Immedia," said Heather Kirk, Immedia’s president.

Kennedy, a graduate of University College Dublin’s Smurfit Graduate School of Business, most recently worked Talk Shop Media, and was a senior account manager at Core Communications in Auckland, New Zealand. The Ireland native has also held agency and in-house positions in Dublin.

citizenM, the innovative Netherlands-based hotel company that promises to “put the fun back into meetings,” has opened its second Seattle property: citizenM Seattle Pioneer Square. The hotel squeezes 216 guest rooms into a 10-story, 70,000-square-foot building, a feat it accomplished by keeping room size to 160 square feet. While Seattle Pioneer Square was designed to appeal to business travelers, it has no dedicated meeting space.

Nothing compares to the grandeur of the Pacific Northwest. There’s an abundance of beauty to enjoy: towering mountain peaks, rocky ocean shores, brooding forests, raging rivers, idyllic vineyards, fertile farmland, skyscraper-lined cities, and wide-open vistas. Perhaps like no other place on earth, the Pacific Northwest unveils dramatic vistas for participants at meetings and events of any sort.

Charlotte Restaurant & Lounge sits on the 16th floor of Lotte Hotel Seattle, a luxury 157-room property designed by Philippe Starck that offers more than 23,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Lead bartender John Plascencia says the drink, inspired by Seattle in the spring, is “pink in color, light, fruity, floral, and beautifully balanced.” In other words, if a cocktail can be described as chic, it would certainly be Love for Lotte.
