Seafair Announces New Hire & Promotions

By M+E Staff

Seafair has recently undergone some staffing changes promoting two internal staff members, Eric Corning and Andrew Scott, and hiring on Sherry Fadely. Corning has been promoted from the vice president of Seafair to chief operating officer. Scott previously held the position of event manager and has now been promoted to sales manager. Fadely has been hired on as an event producer.

Corning, who has been with the organization for over 18 years, brings an extensive background and a vast knowledge of the festival to his new role. He began his career at Seafair, starting as an intern, and received multiple promotions over the years including Director of Operations and Sponsorship Director.

Throughout his time with Seafair, Corning has been responsible for producing a range of events including the Seafair Torchlight Parade, Bellevue Grand Balloon Parade, Seafair Community Events program and the Seafair 50th Anniversary Aqua-Follies show. He is also the lead producer of the Seafair Summer Fourth fireworks show on Lake Union and Seafair Weekend featuring the Albert Lee Appliance Seafair Cup and the Boeing Air Show with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Additionally, Corning directs the organization’s volunteer and emergency management programs.

Having been with Seafair for over three years producing the Seafair Milk Carton Derby and Seafair Torchlight Parade, Scott comes to this new position with a background in event production. Before joining the organization, Scott worked as an equipment intern at the Seattle Seahawks, building upon his experience as student equipment manager for Washington State University’s baseball and football teams. Scott graduated from the school in 2010 with a B.A. in Sports Management.

Fadely has spent the last 15 years developing and producing multi-faceted projects and will use this knowledge to produce the Seafair Torchlight Parade and the Seafair Battle for the Paddle featuring the Seafair Milk Carton Derby and Seafair Stand Up Paddleboarding Competition. She will also assist with the Albert Lee Appliance Seafair Cup and the Boeing Air Show with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Fadely comes to the position from The Creative Edge, where she worked as project manager in business development. She managed multiple Microsoft clients producing keynote presentations, provided executive support and created digital marketing campaigns.
