The Spokane Convention Center recently announced its expansion plans to add exhibition and meeting space to the convention center. The project’s expected completion date is December 2014.
The new addition will include 463,000 square feet of indoor space with connections to outdoor spaces located alongside the Spokane River. The space will feature a riverside ballroom, additional meeting spaces, and an exhibition hall expanded to 117,000 square feet. Exterior and waterfront improvements are also in the works, along with 25,000 square feet of public and back-of-house space.
The expansion will be built to LEED standards, including sustainable offerings such as charging stations, wind energy and composting.
The convention center will have access to more than 1,000 hotel rooms at an existing connected hotel, as well as a new nearby hotel now under construction.
