Think you know everything about Seattle’s famed Pike Place Market? Think again. Eat Seattle is offering foodies a two-hour, chef-led tour of the Market, showcasing nine different vendors, featuring organic and sustainable fare.

Liz McCune, founder of Eat Seattle, spent a year traveling around Europe and notes that she found that “the best way to connect to every region was through the food.” When she returned stateside, she created the tour to help people learn more about Seattle through its cuisine.

Flashback: Mark Spencer Hotel

The Mark Spencer Hotel has been immersed in art since it first opened its doors as the Nortonia Hotel in 1907. Located in the middle of Portland, Oregon’s West End district, it has welcomed artists such as Louis Armstrong, Spike Jones, Billy Barty and Sammy Davis Jr. In 1966, the Nortonia was remodeled and renamed The Mark Spencer Hotel. The oldest operating hotel in Portland’s metro area, it continues to showcase creativity. “Each floor is a nod to a different art form,” says Cydelle Higa-Johnston, director of sales.
