The Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association Education Foundation (ORLAEF) has signed an agreement with Travel Oregon—the state’s tourism commission—to provide customerservice training for Oregon’s travel and tourism industry. The foundation will use American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute’s Guest Service Gold program and Certified Guest Service Professional designation for the statewide training initiative. All hospitality employees throughout the state will participate in the training.

Both organizations have made a commitment to enhancing visitors’ experience. ORLAEF’s staff members have been trained to facilitate in-person Guest Service Gold sessions, and the association has earned the designation of Certified Guest Service Partner. Travel Oregon’s staff also underwent the training and certification process, making the organization the first state tourism agency in the country to become a Certified Guest Service Partner.
