Seattle Southside Tourism Authority Receives Prestigious Award

SportsEvents Media Group—a publication that helps sports event planners manager U.S. competitions—has named Seattle Southside Tourism Authority as a 2017 Readers’ Choice Award Winner.

“SportsEvents readers came out in force to nominate and then to vote for their favorite sports events destinations and the host organizations that represent them,” says John Rezell, executive director, SportsEvents. “Our team is proud to honor the nominees that received the most votes with a 2017 Readers’ Choice Award.”

The newest Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites opened its doors in Hermiston, Ore., on Dec. 7. Located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 395 and W. Hermiston Ave., the hotel is in the heart of downtown—a perfect location.

InnSight Hotel Management Group will manage the 93-room, four-story hotel. It features a number of amenities, including 18 suites, an indoor pool, fitness center, complimentary breakfast service, a meeting room, a business center and guest laundry facilities.

Cascadia Round Up in Pendleton, Ore.

Early bird registration is now available for the 2017 Cascadia Educational Conference—a joint regional conference for Oregon, Washington state and British Columbia chapters of Meeting Professionals International (MPI). Hilton Portland Undergoing Multimillion Dollar Renovation

Hilton Portland is set to undergo a huge transformation that is scheduled to be complete in spring 2017. Renovations will include updates to the guest rooms and lobby, a new restaurant and bar, and meeting space.

The 782-room hotel, located in the heart of downtown Portland, is in the early stages of its renovation. They will first update their existing 60,000 square feet of meeting space, and relocating the fitness room. They've also added a 5,500-square-foot ballroom and additional breakout space.

Salishan Spa & Golf Resort is a Paradise Destination for Canine-Friendly Events and Meetings

Guests at the Salishan Spa & Golf Resort may be a bit surprised by the greeting they receive upon their arrival. Along with a “hello” and a handshake from the concierge as they enter the lobby, they’re also likely to encounter a wet nose and fuzzy muzzle.

That’s Remington’s way of saying “welcome.” The 7-year-old Bernese mountain dog is Salishan’s resident canine and the first indication to guests that this Oregon Coast resort has literally gone to the dogs.

Bend, Oreg., will get its first Element by Westin hotel set to be constructed on Wall Street. Managed by InnSight Hotel Management Group, the hotel will be environmentally friendly.

The 100-room hotel will have a range of amenities, including keyless check-in, bicycles to borrow, in-room filtered water, eco-friendly operations, kitchens in every suite, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour fitness studio, saline pool, complimentary breakfast and daily evening receptions, and more.
