The Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association Education Foundation (ORLAEF) has signed an agreement with Travel Oregon—the state’s tourism commission—to provide customerservice training for Oregon’s travel and tourism industry. The foundation will use American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute’s Guest Service Gold program and Certified Guest Service Professional designation for the statewide training initiative. All hospitality employees throughout the state will participate in the training.
The Oregon Tourism Commission (Travel Oregon) recently announced the recipients of the 2013 Travel and Tourism Industry Achievement Awards at the 2014 Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Sunriver, Ore. The annual awards event recognizes and honors individuals and organizations that demonstrate dedication and outstanding performance in the Oregon tourism and hospitality industry.
The Mercury Awards recognize excellence and creative accomplishment in tourism marketing and promotion along with inspiring development of exciting destination marketing and promotion programs, all on the state level.
