• Visit Milwaukee Wins Coveted Award

Visit Milwaukee won the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals National Videographer Award.

After 1,500 video entries were submitted, “Meet Milwaukee,” created by Kris Martinez, Visit Milwaukee’s digital marketing manager, surpassed industry standards and won an Award of Distinction.

“Videos are becoming increasingly important in selling a destination,” says Paul Upchurch, president and CEO of Visit Milwaukee. “We are pleased that the AMCP agrees with us that ‘Meet Milwaukee’ is a high-quality piece that conveys the fun, attractions and natural beauty of our city.”

The awards are judged by professionals in the industry, who are looking for companies that go above and beyond the expectations of the industry. Past winners have ranged from large production companies all the way to student producers.

Level Hotels & Furnished Suites, which provides apartment-style accommodations for short and long stays, is expanding its portfolio with the opening of Level Seattle - South Lake Union later this spring.

 

When I visited Boise Centre for our recent cover story on Idaho’s capital city, I found the convention center, much like the city itself, spotless and both nimble and responsible in reacting to the ongoing pandemic.

 

In early March, Meeting Professionals International released a statement regarding the invasion of Ukraine: 

“In a show of support for the people of Ukraine, MPI will immediately suspend business with all companies in Russia. In addition, any plans to formalize a chapter in Russia will be paused….We remain concerned for the well-being of our community and our MPI members in Russia and Ukraine who were already seeking to climb out of the shadow of this pandemic and are now experiencing these unprecedented challenges.”
